WRITING WITH AN EDGE

Features and comment...

Over the years, I’ve written numerous articles and comment pieces for business to business media. And more recently, features and interviews for consumer magazines.

A sideways look from an unusual angle can make for a stimulating read, whether it’s digital imagery or cosmetic surgery, football in Darlington or dominatrices in Dover. When local bureaucrats were getting themselves steamed up over a stadium recently, a spot of gentle ridicule seemed a good way of both releasing pressure and illuminating some very murky corners.

Surprises are everywhere. Delving into the history of a traditional county song a while back produced some twists, turns and an extraordinary story for Sussex Life magazine.

And while we all like the chance to comment on the Meaning of Life, other things can engage readers too. Like a piece of undercover journalism on changing trends in fashion...
